SAN FRANCISCO, Sep 27, 2005 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- SanDisk(R) Corporation (Nasdaq:SNDK) today announced
that the cryptographic engine core for its new TrustedFlash(TM)
platform was designed by Discretix Technologies. Discretix, based in
Netanya, Israel, is a leader in embedded security solutions for flash
memory and portable devices such as mobile phones, a key market for
SanDisk's TrustedFlash memory cards.
Based on the company's extensive patent portfolio, Discretix
offers vertically integrated security solutions such as CryptoCell and
CryptoFlash, which combine hardware and firmware for the mobile device
and storage markets. The CryptoFlash core was adapted to meet
SanDisk's requirements for TrustedFlash cards.
"SanDisk and Discretix have cooperated extensively over the past
two years to incorporate Discretix' CryptoFlash technology into
SanDisk's TrustedFlash technology platform that is the foundation of
SanDisk's third generation TrustedFlash cards that we are introducing
today," said Yoram Cedar, SanDisk senior vice president for
engineering and emerging market business development. "The combination
of SanDisk's 32-bit controller architecture and Discretix's hardware
cryptographic engine design provides TrustedFlash cards with the high
performance encryption of downloaded content in real time, without
compromising either security or performance," he said.
"We are delighted to work with SanDisk on the launch of the
TrustedFlash platform," said Edo Ganot, executive vice president of
sales and business development for Discretix Technologies. "As a
leader in embedded security, our partnership with SanDisk, a world
leader in flash memory, is a natural one."
